Track Construction & Facility
Built in 2012 with the help of many who have volunteered their time and/or heavy equipment, the Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championship track is 110 feet wide at all points around the track surface with a race groove of 1/3 mile and outside containment wall of .4 mile. The early construction required the removal of approximately three (3) acres of trees which were later milled into the 6x6 posts used onsite around the current facility today. In the interest of site sustainability, no track material was removed from the site or brought in; Nearly 80,000 cubic yards of material was shaped and moved to create an oval track from what was originally a flat corn field. There is a also a pond on the grounds holding nearly 600,000 gallons of water, used in the Winter to form ice on the track surface. For safety, a series of hay bale walls is also set to minimize any possible contact with containment walls during racing.

The Pinnacle of Motorsports Facilities in Central Wisconsin.
Today, the Wausau 525 facility is home to three (3) major motorsports events which have brought tens of thousands of race fans and enthusiasts to the Central Wisconsin area since 2012. Hosted annual events at the venue currently include Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championship, AMA ATV ICE Racing Grand National Championship featuring the Midwest Motorcycle Shootout and August-Oh Fest. With 7000 square feet of inside displayer/vendor expo space, adjacent food, beverage and concessions plus indoor heated/cooled VIP fan/corporate viewing locations, the Wausau 525 venue has been a fan and race team favorite since its initial construction.
Outside its main building are 20+ acres of onsite event parking with overflow additional parking available. A series of outdoor, high visibility display expo areas are located just inside the main gates and also surrounding main building entrances; Prime for both corporate and local vendors of various sizes. Support teams and race crews are able to easily enter through the separately gated, specially designated pit area (behind fan viewing areas in turns 1 & 2) which provides ample race trailer/pit parking as well as early or late entry for crews, allowing secure entry and special pit pass access options.
