Track site improvements for the 2007 Wausau 525 are now complete.
In cooperation with the Wausau/Marathon County Parks Department and the DNR, the spectator hillside has been cut down and tiered, and a new fence installed to provide the best possible viewing along the entire front stretch.
Additional power and video cables have been run to accommodate the food and beverage areas as well as to provide live closed circuit viewing of the racing action in both areas.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped finalize the process today by putting up all the fencing at the track site.

The Wausau 525 will also be at the Wausau Area Grass Drags & Swap Meet hosted by the Trailmates Snowmobile Club on September 30, and October 1st. Be sure to stop by the new Wausau 525 semi trailer and see Matt Schulz 's 2007 champ sled, owned by Rick Kersten of Central Wisconsin Lumber. We will also have the Wausau 525 Track Gear for sale.

The Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championships will be at the World Championship Vintage Show & Reunion on Sept. 22 & 23rd.

The Wausau 525 Champ 440 final was ran at the 44th annual Canadian Power Toboggan Championships at Beausejour, Manitoba on March 4th. For the full results please see the 2006 results page.

The Wausau 525 Group, Inc. was at the Trailmates Snowmobile Club on Saturday Feb. 18th, 2007 to make a generous donation to the "Circle of Friends" "Wunsch Family Foundation of $1,500. Ralph Merwin presented the check to Jerry and stated "that the Wausau 525 & Flip's Fund commends the great job he and his staff are doing and how honored he was to be able to give a donation on behalf of himself, along with all the racers, sponsors, and great volunteers that made it all possible."

Yamaha has announced that "Jimmy Blaze" will be at the Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championships on Saturday, Jan. 28th. He will be on hand to sign autographs with Nextel Cup driver Scott Wimmer, and D-Aces Cory Kufahl. Besides signing autographs Jimmy Blaze will be doing his world famous "Back Flip" and several other stunts on his 2006 Yamaha Nytro. Be sure not to miss this amazing display.

The Wausau 525 Group, Inc. has scheduled this years autograph session for 10:30 to 11:30 on Saturday January 28th in the main tent. Scott Wimmer driver of the #4 Chevrolet in the Nextel Cup Series will be on hand signing autographs. Along with Scott, will be Cory Kufahl from D-Aces.

The Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championships are on as scheduled. We currently have over 12 inches of ice, and with the upcoming weather forecast we hope to only add to that. We are also very pleased that the lake in in excellent shape with no slush on the top of it anywhere.

The Wausau 525 Group will be holding the Volunteer Information Meeting on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00pm . The meeting will be held at the Trailmates Snowmobile Clubhouse.
*It is very important to attend this meeting if you are volunteering for this year’s race as you will receive your instruction and pass packets for the race weekend.*
